Dr. Nina Schoch, Coordinator of Biodiversity Research Institute’s Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation, will provide a presentation titled Unveiling the Secret Lives of Nesting Adirondack Loons. This unique slideshow discusses the natural history of Adirondack loons and new insight into the behavior of nesting loons and factors affecting their nesting success.

Our Children’s Program for the week is the Karen Pillsworth Story Teller Program from 10:30-11:30 am on Wednesday (July 27th).
Karen Pillsworth has been enchanting audiences in the U.S. and Canada with her stories for over 30 years. She has performed in libraries, camps, churches, parks, schools, historic sites and at festivals. She is regularly featured at Mohonk Mountain House and has shared her stories on WAMC National Public Radio.
Karen has taught “The Art of Storytelling” at Ulster County Community College and “Discovering the Stories Within Us” at Ulster Performing Arts Center’s Expanding Horizon’s Art and Education Center. In 1994, she was selected as National Arts Education Fellow for her program: “There’s No Place Like Home: Stories of the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains.” In 2002, she was named Storyteller Laureate of the city of Kingston, NY.
