Warren County COVID-19 Response: 3.28

← Previous Next →
March 28, 2020 Warren County Public Health Services has confirmed two additional positive cases in Warren County. That brings us to 10 positive Warren County residents cumulatively since the disease was first detected locally. Health Services has identified and quarantined those with exposure to the new cases. County health officials have collectively settled on two metrics that we will be using going forward to update the public: The number of verified positive cases and number of recoveries. So far in Warren County, three of 10 are fully recovered, and the others are getting medical attention as needed. Positive tests and recoveries are the only unambiguous and unimpeachable metrics local health departments can use to safely draw conclusions, Warren County Administrator Ryan Moore said. Business Closure and Congregation Enforcement Update Warren County supervisors and Administrator Ryan Moore have been working with the Governor's Office in recent days to get clarification about which businesses can remain open. Gov. Cuomo issued an executive order Friday night outlining a solution: Failure to abide by prior orders on business closures and social distancing will be considered a building code violation. Code enforcement officials and fire marshals will be authorized to issue appearance tickets, notices of violation, orders to remedy, and even "do not occupy" orders to businesses found in violation. Police officers are also authorized to remove people from businesses found in violation or take action against congregations. Moore said the language of the executive order has been provided to Warren County Buildings and Codes, Emergency Services, Sheriff's Office and District Attorney's Office. They will work out execution of this order in Warren County if violations are found. County Public Health Services continues to request that seasonal homeowners who came to the county in recent days self-quarantine for 14 days and contact the agency at 518-761-6580 to go over resources for assistance and local protocols.
