We appreciate the donation of books. We will accept donations with the understanding that the material will be added to the library only when needed; if not added, the library may sell, give away, or discard the item(s) at its discretion. Donated materials are evaluated for addition to the collection using the same criteria that are used for purchasing new material. The library cannot accept donations of materials with restrictions.
The library welcomes the following kinds of donations:
- Hardcover and paperback books in good condition
- Music compact discs
- DVDs in good condition
- VHS tapes
- Audiobooks on CD
- Puzzles
The library does not accept:
- Periodicals
- Reader’s Digest condensed books
- Encyclopedias
- Textbooks
- Audiocassettes
- Material that is mildewed, yellow, has a noticeable odor or is otherwise in poor condition
Most donations are tax deductible. The library, however, assumes no responsibility for estimating the monetary value of donated items.
